Thousands of years ago the psalmist asked: “Why are the nations in an uproar, the peoples grumbling in vain? The earth’s kings are taking positions, leaders conspiring together, against Adonai and His anointed.” (Psalm 2:1-2) –Jews have asked this question every year since that time.
The psalm hints of another source for the ancient hatred that has always plagued the Jewish people. Anti-Semitism is far too ancient, too persistent, too well organized to have its origins in the mind of man, because it is the longest and deepest hatred of human history.
So, why do the nations always plot against the Jews? Why do the nations hate Israel? |
The Jewish people’s existence defies all logic. They should have disappeared thousands of years ago. The most powerful nations in every generation planned their destruction, yet they have all disappeared and the tiny Jewish nation is still around.
The return of the Jews to their ancient Jewish homeland can’t be explained in logical terms. It is an event which was predicted thousands of years ago, yet it could not have happened logically. Jews from all over the world have been streaming into Israel. They rejuvenated their ancient language and fended off enemies who outnumbered them.
Today those enemies continue to seek their destruction. Israelis have been murdered by suicide bombers and rock throwers. They are presently under threat of nuclear attack. As if that wasn’t enough, Israel’s leaders insist upon pretending that they can live in peace with those who seek their destruction. Any other such nation would have perished long ago. Yet Israel grows and thrives. All of this is in defiance of logic.
We see a fulfillment of biblical Balaam’s prophecy: “It is a people that shall dwell alone, and shall not be reckoned among the nations.” (Numbers 23:9) The nation of Israel is not considered as part of the family of nations – when all nations are listed and arranged according to geographical affiliation – some in Europe, others in Asia and others in Africa – the Israeli nation is left outside.
There is a very simple explanation to this question. The Jewish people are physical proof of the existence of G-d. The nations hate G-D. Because they hate G-D, they also hate his word, the Torah, and his people, the Jews. After all, there is nothing quite so upsetting to the post-modern ear, as to hear of a universal standard of truth or a “chosen people.” It is this very fact which causes so many to hate the Jews. In this modern age of computers and cell phones we tend to forget and deny the concept of Creation. People have begun to believe that they are the creators and able to control what happens in the world. Even among the Jewish People there are those who prefer not to think about G-D. The very idea of a Jewish State - especially one located in the ancient Land of Israel - forces even atheists to take notice.
Israel reminds the sinful world of G-D’s rule, and of His laws. People today hate these ideas. Thus we see that anti-Semitism, at its heart, is anti-God and anti-Torah.
No other country in the world would as much as suggest building a new county upon its own soil, especially for enemies who seek its destruction. Israel’s leaders have fallen into a trap of their own making by engaging in a so-called “peace process” which, in fact, is a process of self destruction.
Yet, despite these leaders, and despite the overwhelming number of enemies who actively seek Israel’s destruction, the Jewish State continues not merely to exist, but to grow and thrive! This too is clear proof of Divine intervention. There is simply no other explanation.
No power on Earth can destroy Israel. Those who seek her destruction will themselves be destroyed.
The world, apart from Israel and G-D’s word, is lost and doomed. He alone will bring redemption and peace to Israel, and no power on Earth can prevent His Word from coming to pass.
Pope Benedict XVI arrived in Israel at 11 AM as scheduled, on a direct flight from neighboring Jordan. On hand to greet him were President Peres and most of the government; the Chief Rabbis were not there.
The pope had said his visit was a personal pilgrimage, and Voice of Israel government radio talk show host Yaron Dekel said that the pope requested that the Israeli flag and anthem not be in evidence. However, the Jordanian plane carrying the pope to Israel flew flags of both Israel and the Vatican, and the anthems of both were played upon his arrival.
Pope Benedict XVI claims at least five Christian holy sites in Israel when visits the Holy Land next week. He is demanding them, not even just asking.
The sites include:
President Shimon Peres urged the government of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to turn the sites over to the Catholic Church in hopes of boosting Jewish-Christian relations.
Tourism Minister Stas Misezhnikov said that if turning over the sites would guarantee a major boost in Christian tourism that would be one thing. But as Catholics have never been strong supporters of Israel, it would essentially amount to “handing out gifts.”
Misezhnikov’s remarks hit on a point on which most Israelis are typically unclear - Israel does indeed have vast Christian support that is worth bolstering even further, but it does not come from the ranks of the Catholic Church. Rather, Israel’s strongest supporters are Evangelical Christians who belong to an array of Protestant denominations and non-denominational groups. – I sometimes get confused myself, as to which church or denomination is supporting Israel and which one doesn’t.
What happened to the vessels that were plundered when Titus burned the Temple? Did he take them to Rome? Are some of them hidden in the Vatican cellars in Rome? (What happened to the Menorah, the Laver Basin, the Table of the Showbread, the Golden Altar, the Copper Altar, and the Ornamental Curtain at the entrance to the Holy of Holies?) . The Talmud details a Sage who said that when he was in Rome, he saw the Kohen HaGadol’s (High Priest’s) headband with the Divine Name inscribed on it.
What happened to various tractates of the Talmud, books of Maimonides, and around 7,500 works on Jewish philosophy and science that were stolen and remain in the Vatican library? Vast libraries of rare stolen Jewish books (and often unique manuscripts) exist in the Vatican. We know that because, occasionally scholars (Jewish or otherwise) are allowed access to them, to do research. The Vatican is so morally corrupt, that it’s not even embarrassed to admit that they have the stolen goods, and even relishes the opportunity to show them off (to the “right” scholars) at times. - Shouldn’t these stolen goods be returned to the Jews, before they give more of their possessions to the Vatican?
Why are the Tanach in Hebrew and the writings of the first followers of Jesus are all of a sudden in Greek? Wasn’t he a Jew who spoke Hebrew and Aramaic?
For 46 years after Israel’s rebirth the Vatican refused to acknowledge Israel’s right to exist. What right does the Pope have to demand Israeli property? Doesn’t “Mr. Infallible” read the Bible?
One of the central themes in the Jewish and the Christian Bible is the fact that G-d gave His chosen people the land of Israel; - and the ultimate destiny of that Land is that the coming Messiah will rule from there. - The idea that pagan sojourners in the Promised Land have any claim to that property shows a lack of biblical grasp.
Israel’s new government better embrace and pursue the “two-state-solution”, was the threatening message we heard from Europe and the rest of the world, - or face the displeasure of the European Union. It came Friday night, shortly after the Jewish state entered the Sabbath Day, from Karel Schwarzenberg, foreign minister of the Czech Republic, the current the EU president.
Schwarzenberg said; “Relations would become very difficult indeed, if the about-to-be-inaugurated Netanyahu government will not commit itself to establishing a Palestinian state in the heart of the ancient Jewish homeland.” - Mr. Schwarzenberg also praised the already-intensive efforts of the new Obama administration to oversee and direct the slicing and dicing of the Land He gave to them.
Luxembourg’s foreign minister, Jean Asselborn, said that the much discussed and hoped-for upgrading of EU-Israeli trade and political ties would be contingent on Israel achieving a peace deal with the Palestinians.
“Let me say very clearly that the way the European Union will relate to an [Israeli] government that is not committed to a two-state solution will be very, very different,” Solana said, adding unabashedly that Europe “will be ready to do business as usual, normally, with a government in Israel that will continue talking for a two-state solution.”
As if Israel hasn’t tried to do everything it could. It surrendered control of some of its most sacred and strategic historic sites, and allowed the PLO to establish itself as an armed and governmental presence in these territories. Israel offered to place some of its greatest and most sacred national treasures on the negotiating table, and has repeatedly taken unprecedented “risks for peace.” It unilaterally withdrew from its land and gave the Palestinians the Gush Katif area, - land for peace!
However, that didn’t work and Jews continue to be murdered as a direct result of these unilateral peace efforts.
Why does everyone think they need to dictate Israel what to do? Is it their country? Oh, I forgot, we have now a one world government, that dictates everyone what they can and can’t do. But, why do the nations always plot against the Jews?
There is a very simple explanation to this question. The nations hate G-D. Because they hate G-D, they also hate his word, the Bible, and his people, the Jews. After all, there is nothing quite so upsetting, as to hear of a universal standard of truth or a “chosen people.”
Yes, the nations hate G-D, and they hate Israel. Israel reminds the sinful world of G-D’s rule, and of His laws. People today hate these ideas.
The world, apart from Israel and the Torah, is lost and doomed. Europe has lost its biblical basis and has become a haven for howling anti-Semites. Many of Europe’s residents still curse the Jews from inside the very houses they once stole from their murdered Jewish owners.
Incredibly, - while Europe has killed most of her Jews, she continues to hate them.
Today the European Union hypocritically poses as a peacemaker for Israel, but in reality, the union despises Israel with a deep loathing.
As we see today worldwide, the hatred of Israel is growing. Today, anti-Semitism is rapidly rising throughout the world. It has been said that Israel has now become the “world’s Jew.”
As the writer Ron Rosenbloom put it, “The concentration of so many Jews in one place – and I use the word ‘concentration’ advisedly – gives the world a chance to kill the Jews en masse again.”
There is one thing for sure and certain. Before this evil age plays out, all the nations of the world will come together in one “final solution” to solve the Israel “problem.” These nations are also on a direct collision course with the Almighty.
For G-D says: “I will gather all nations and bring them down to the Valley of Y’hoshafat [Adonai judges]. I will enter into judgment there for my people, my heritage Israel, whom they scattered among the nations; then they divided my land.” (Joel 3:2)
This great battle is the last one for this age, and will in fact end the age. It is commonly believed that the Valley of Ge-Hinnom, together with the Kidron Valley, represents the “Valley of Jehosaphat,” the valley of G-d’s judgment upon His enemies. The battle will largely be fought in the beautiful Jezreel Valley near an ancient hill called Har Meggido (Mount Meggido). It is a strategic spot for the nations to gather and attempt to cut Israel in two.
To fight against Israel is to fight against her G-D; – and how foolish is that?! ——- Lilo

In 1948 nearly one million Jews lived in Arab lands. But In barely twenty years, they have become forgotten fugitives, expelled from their native lands, forgotten by history and where the victims themselves have hidden their fate under a cloak of silence.
A people whom legend have always associated with “wandering” many of these Jews from Arab lands had lived there for thousands of years and accepted their fate, through good times and bad times.
But 1948, the beginning of their exodus, also saw the birth of the State of Israel.
And, while the Arab armies were preparing to invade the young refugee-country, the survivors of the Shoah were piling up in rickety boats. Meanwhile a few hundred thousand Arabs from Palestine were getting ready to flee their homes, convinced that they would return as winners and conquerors.
Soon - by a terrible twist of fate they, as well, began to fill up refugee camps and passed on their refugee status to new generations.
The Jews, however, did not receive refugee status.
They had just rediscovered the land of their birthright.
And if they came from Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Libya, Egypt, Syria, Iraq or from Yemen, if they had lost everything, even their relatives and their cemeteries, they were ready to rebuild their lives in the West and for many - in Israel - and try to forget their past.
Without ever asking for compensation or the right of return, or even wishing that their story be told…
Here is the trailer for the superb filmmaker Pierre Rehov’s Silent Exodus. Silent Exodus was selected at the International Human Rights Film Festival of Paris in 2004 and presented at the UN Geneva Human Rights Annual Convention that same year.
Jews are traditionally abhorred with hunting. The first man the Bible described as a hunter was a man called Nimrod, (B’resheet 10:9). The Rabbis castigated him for this activity, and linked it to the general degeneracy of his character.
The Jerusalem Targum (Aramaic translation of the Hebrew Bible) says that Nimrod “was mighty in hunting and in sin before God.” - Along with hunting, Nimrod’s “rebellions against the Lord” included his founding of the city of Babel, in which the infamous tower was built.
But it is not only the hunter who is the target of rabbinic contempt. Commentators who castigate Nimrod have little use for the other biblical hunter, Esau, who ate the animals that he killed.
Esau, like Nimrod, is considered a contemptible character. The Encyclopedia Judaica reports that “The two famous hunters in the Bible, Nimrod and Esau, were regarded in a derogatory light, as rebels against God and the very antithesis of the spirit of Judaism.” The rabbinical attitude toward hunting is entirely negative. - This condemnation of hunting and hunters continued to mark Judaism.
However, I think - in the early days - hunting was the chief means for obtaining food and clothing. - Only later hunting became a sport in medieval Europe, where it was reserved, as far as possible, for the privileged classes by game laws. Today, hunting is probably still the most popular sport in the United States. The hunting seasons vary for each state and animal that is hunted; however hunting is mostly done in autumn.
A hunter is someone with a gun and he forces you. Hitler was a hunter.
Kings, Pharaohs, Generals, Fuehrers, Muslim extremists, and more tried to hunt and exterminate the Jews for Millennia. The Bible predicts the persecution of Jews will be intensified in the “end-times.” - Today, Muslims fan the flames of anti-Semitism, in Europe, and around the world.
We are told that the world is a different world today. We communicate globally. We live in what some call the “global village”.
Historically, Europe has been one of the centers of Anti-Semitism, and – indeed – its cradle. Today, the syndrome has re-appeared worldwide, but on the European continent, in particular, with a vengeance.
Anti-Semitism happens now in a wired universe. Today, a sermon from Cairo travels across the globe within minutes, through the networks, the Internet, e-mail, and Al Jazeera. - This globalization facilitates the incitement and hate that makes the message of anti-Semitism more potent and very real. It is now out there everywhere.
Israel’s action against Hamas in Gaza had repercussions for Jewish communities in Europe, where many reported a substantial increase in anti-Semitic incidents since Israel’s military operation was launched on December 27. Attacks against identifiably Jewish persons and property spiked in Belgium and France, while across Europe, anti-Semitic rhetoric was heard and on display at anti-Israel demonstrations, including banners that equated Israel with the Nazis and called for Jihad.

In many demonstrations — scores held in cities from London to Lahore and Paris to Panama City since the Israeli operation began on December 27 — anti-Semitism and outrageous comparisons to the Holocaust were interspersed with legitimate expressions of criticism of Israel.
Placards held at many global demonstrations compared Israeli leaders to Nazis, accused Israel of carrying out a “Holocaust” against Palestinians, and equated the Jewish Star of David with the Nazi swastika. In some Muslim and European nations, the demonstrations included chants of “death to Israel” or expressions of support for suicide terrorism against Israeli or Jewish civilians.
There were incidents in Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Netherlands, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland.
It looks to me like “Hitler’s bounty hunters” are again on the move. It’s time to betray and blame the Jews.
It is imperative for us Jews to recognize that our 2000 year exile is coming to an end. To voluntarily live in exile, as pleasant as it may seem to be, is a grave sin against our Creator.
